Armed Robbers Attack Metro Mass Transit Bus At Police Checkpoint at Begoro in the Eastern Region.

A gang of four robbers has attacked  robbed a Metro Mass Transit Bus which was traveling from Begoro to Koforidua.

According to the Begoro District Command, the police officers who were on duty were not at post at that time so the armed robbers took charge and represented themselves as police at the Begoro police check point.

The four suspected armed robbers who are now seriously wanted by the police attacked a Metro Mass Transit Bus with the registration number GT 3389 – Z at the Begoro Police checkpoint on Monday, May 3, 2021.

According to the Police, the robbers robbed the passengers and made away with GHC 36, 480.00 and nine cell phones.

Some of the passengers who were not able to give them money or good cell phones were also beaten mercilessly.

Further reports from the Begoro District Police Command indicates that, the padlock to the Police barricade was unlocked, enabling the robbers to get access to the room from where they mounted their barrier like real policemen.

The police also reported that, a taxi driver has also visited the charge office on that same day to report that he has robbed of an amount of GHC 4, 200 and a cell phone at that same venue.

The Begoro District Police Command has promised to investigate this case a quickly as possible and get anyone who is suspected to be part of these four robbers arrested.
