The Electoral Commission of Ghana has still not paid most of most of the workers who were contracted to work at the polling stations during the 2020 elections.
Though some of the workers who were contracted have received their payments, it is still mind blowing to know that majority of them have still not received a dime yet.
Many Presiding Officers, Name Reference List Officers, Verification Officers, Ballot issuers and other role players have not been paid as we almost come to the end of the first half of 2021.
Speaking to Dr. Bismark Sarpong, who was a Presiding Elder in the Tro-Bu constituency, he complained about how worried he gets, when his colleagues visit their Official WhatsApp group to express their profound worries concerning the delay of their payments.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission assured that its field operatives who assisted in the conduct of the 2020 general election will be paid by the end of April this year.
After expressing their regrets and rendering apologies for delaying payments for the services of the field operatives the commission made a statement that it is working hard with the Ministry of Finance to ensure that workers receive their payment by the end of April.
