Media Foundation For West Africa Ready To Help Citi FM To Sue Over Assault On Caleb Kudah
The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has expressed its readiness to assist Citi FM/Cities TV to take legal action against the National Security operatives who assaulted the Citi TV broadcaster, Mr. Caleb Judah.
Mr. Sulemana Braimah, the Foundation’s Executive Secretary confirmed this when he spoke on one of Citi TV’s talk show programme called The Big Issue on May 15, 2021.
The Executive Secretary explained that, their honorable foundation us ever ready to make sure that brutalization of journalist becomes a thing of the past.
He continued that, he therefore charge the National Media Commission (NMC) to support the broadcaster and make sure that the right thing is done.
Mr. Braimah confessed that he was happy when the when the Minister for Information visited Citi FM, he also made a statement that this must be a test case because not too long ago there was a launch of a National Coordinated Mechanism on the safety of all journalist in the country.
All this issues comes after a male broadcast journalist called Caleb Kudah was arrested on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 by by couple of National Security operatives for filming abandoned vehicle which is procured by MASLOC and gas been parked for several years now.
Citi TV’s Zoe Abu Baidoo was also arrested by heavily armed policemen at the premises of Cities TV when it was detected that Caleb Kudah has forwarded a section of the video to him via WhatsApp.
In an interview with Bernard Avle in the Point of View talk show on Citi TV Caleb Kudah confirmed that he was slapped several times by the security officer’s.
