Flood takes over Kejetia Market in Kumasi – Ashanti Region.

The latest down pour, which occured on Saturday, Junne 26, 2021 has caused a great flood at Kejetia Market in the Kumasi, Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Over 300 stores in the Kejetia Market have been flooded due to the heavy rainfall.

As monitored by Elohai News, most of the owners of these affected stores hsve closed their shops leading to a retard in business and economic activity.

One of the most affected areas is The -state- of – art commercial hub which was inaugurated in the year 2018.

Officials of the Kejetia market and officials of Kumasi City Markets are seriously working to drain the water which has become stagnant.

Speaking to the media, Mr Duffour Adda the manager of the Kejetia Market said they have called an emergency meeting to find a remedy to the situation.

The National Disaster and Management Organisation (NADMO) estimates that at least three people including a one year old boy have lost their lives in the incidence.
