The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana as directed all mobile money agents in Ghana have been directed to continue the work under the usual charge system without increasing or decreasing charges.
This directive was announced after the Mobile Money Agent Association of Ghana held a meeting with the Ghana Revenue Authority over the 10 percent withholding tax on cash out services.
Before the meeting, The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana had already announced increment in charges which was supposed to take effect from Thursday, July 1, 2021.
According to the leaders of the Mobile Money Agents Association, they have postponed the increment to the next two months in order to be able to engage stake holders.
In a statement released on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the leaders said they shall be having a meeting with the Ghana Revenue Authority and other stake holders for a further discussion and other matters relating to taxations of the mobile money services.
“We are by this release asking our cherished members to proceed to perform their services with the consumers under the usual arrangements regarding charges.
