A fatal accident that just occurred at Omenako near Suhum on the Accra – Kumasi highway on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 around 3pm has caused the death of 5 persons.
According to reports, the 5 deceased passengers were in board in a Hyundai H100 mini bus as they were traveling from Nkawkaw to Accra.
When they reached Omenako, a town near suhum on the Accra – Kumasi highway in the Eastern Region, the driver attempted an overtaking in a sharp curve without checking to find out if there is a vehicle coming ahead.
In the middle of the overtaking, he realized there is a trailer truck coming ahead of him but he was already in the middle and cannot do anything.
Sadly, the Hyundai H100 collided head-on with the trailer truck which was reportedly to be registered as GN 6885 -20 causing 5 persons to join their ancestors instantly.
With the intervention of the Ghana Police Service, the two accident cars have been towed from the accident scene to the Amasaman Police Station while the Police Officers are still conducting investigations.
We must be very careful when driving and also respect traffic regulations in order to curb road accidents.
