A video going viral on the national television of Guinea claims that some army of soldiers had seized power from the Guinea Government.
The video shows President Alpha Conde`, surrounded by soldiers who said they had seized power from the Guinea Government.
However, the defence minister has reported that the attempted overthrown of the President has been resisted by the presidential guards.
According to research, Guinea is one of the richest African countries in terms of natural resources but due to poor leadership and corruption, it has become one of the poorest countries in the world.
Following this issue, the Secretary – general of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres has Condemned the act and requested for the immediate release of the overthrowned Government.
The video featured nine Anonymous soldiers who allegedly calls themselves the National Committee for Reconciliation and Development.
In the video, they were seen in their soldiers garment with red, gold and green clothes being rapped around them.
According to these soldiers, they have rebelled and overthrown the President of Guinea due to rampant corruption, poverty and mismanagement.
They announced that, they have seized power from government and therefore the constitution of the state has been dissolved and so they will be consultations to develop a new one which will be more helpful.
In another video, the same unnamed soldiers who have seized power from the president was seen asking President Conde Alpha to confess that he is unharmed but he would not do that.
President Alpha Conde, who has allegedly been overthrown was seen sitting barefooted on a sofa wearing jeans a printed shirt, he had not sustained any physical injury though no one knows where he has been sent to.
Further reports indicates that the coup was organized and led by an elite unite headed by a former legionnaire called Lt Col Mamady Doumbouya.
