Takoradi Residents Rejects Police’s Fake Pregnancy Claim.
Some angry residents in Takoradi have rejected reports made by the Ghana Police Service that 29 – year – old Josephine Mensah faked her pregnancy and kidnapping.
According to these residents, they are dissatisfied over the arrest of Josephine’s mother, husband and other person who strongly promoting this kidnapping case.
Dressed in red, neighbours of the victim who have now been declared as suspects were spotted on the streets of the neighbourhood chanting war songs and raining curses on various authorities for making such claims.
In the early hours of today, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that the victim, Josephine Mensah was never pregnant. According to the Ghana Police Service, their preliminary investigation into the issue revealed that the victim may have intentionally conspired with some persons to stage the incident.
The Western Regional Minister, Hon. Leave a Okyere Darko Mensah has also made a statement concerning this issue which caused a great commotion among the residents on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Speaking with Ina – Thalia Quansah, the Western Regional Correspondent for JoyNews, a neighbor insisted that Josephine was over nine months pregnant before her sudden disappearance.
“When Josephine disappeared, we took the right steps and went to the appropriate authorities to report the case and ask for their intervention. But now that she has been found they are attempting to accuse her of being untruthful.
“…I know that God in heaven knows that she is pregnant. God has been with her throughout those six days that she went missing, He will definitely intervene this time too,” a resident told JoyNews.
